Spotify Won’t Play — Fix Buffering and Playback Stalls

Problem summary

Users encounter tracks that won't start, repeatedly buffer, or the play icon spins endlessly.

Check internet connection (Wi‑Fi or cellular).

Restart the Spotify app and device.

Clear app cache.

Update Spotify to the latest version.

Lower streaming quality (if connection weak).

Disable VPN/proxies.

Reinstall Spotify if persistent.

Toggle Airplane mode (mobile) then reenable network. Test playback.

Open a browser and verify another streaming site loads quickly.

In Spotify settings, set Streaming Quality to "Low" and try playback. If it works, raise quality gradually.

Clear cache: Settings → Storage → Clear Cache (mobile) or Edit → Preferences → Offline Songs Storage (desktop folder cleanup).

Logout, force‑quit app, reboot device, login again.
